I'm not sure who created this syndicated feed from my typepad blog, but thank you, and here's the link. :)

Subject:Citrus Bag Pattern is finished.

The Citrus Bag pattern is finished and up for sale over on etsy, if you're interested. A fun pattern to make and a really sturdy bag that I'm getting a lot of use out of.

Sadly, I had a colossal fail trying to line it, which is a shame, because it would be all the more useful if I could pull that off. I still love the fabric that I bought to line it with, and I'm sure I'll manage to come up with *something* that I can do with it.

Finished this guy over the weekend....erm, while I should have been working on the ladybug...As you can see, I've finally grasped the french knot. I was so overjoyed, I covered this five legged octo in them!

There's a kind mention of the crocheted terrarium pattern over at The Naughty Secretary Club. Even better, there's a great print by Gennine listed there and some other really cool terrariums!

Also, I finally am back on track updating the LJ. :)

Subject:What a week...
Security:Public

This week at the day job was pretty awful, and while usually it's helpful to use crafts to unwind, this week I just kept coming home and sitting on the couch pulling apart crochet projects. Um, totally not productive.

So, the ottoman, after being pulled apart several times this week, is just about finished, and I'll be wrapping up a few more projects this weekend.

I also should take photos of the GOOD part of this week at work, which was a complete rebuild of the sensory room attached to my room, something my aides actually DID help with, versus staring at me like I'm insane, or utterly ignoring me, two favorites of theirs. It's a calming room with a fish theme, it involved lots of use of power tools, including my beloved cordless drill, so I had a good time and worked out some aggression all at once. I was then able to sit in there and calm myself.

At any rate, looking forward to a better weekend...

Menacing Giant Slug

Hopefully it doesn't eat the cat while I'm out today...

I'm starting to wonder if it's my eyes that are underexposed rather than my pictures. This is the third camera that I've had where everything looks perfect when I take the shot, but when I get it onto the computer to edit it, everything is too dark.

Work at the day job is still not to be mentioned. Things are totally insane and I haven't had a lunch break in weeks. Perhaps this is why I'm making mushrooms and giant slugs. I really can't wait to get the giant slug finished, I've been working really hard on it and it's coming along nicely! Orange, of course. ;)

Oh, and I'm totally loving Small Magazine.

I've been reading up on earthworms & looking at pictures for a new toy and pattern. They just get cooler and cooler.

Yes, I'm still on the whole sewing thing. Basically I really burnt myself out on crocheting, and rather than take my annual "I'm not doing anything for a month" vacation from crafting, I succumbed to temptation and picked up a pile of wool felt (the nice stuff) and have been sewing to my heart's content.

I realize I didn't add any info on the previous post. I've gotten super burnt out on crocheting, so I'm experimenting with my sewing machine while I wait for any motivation to finish my patterns to turn up. I love to embroider, so I thought some embroidery heavy plushes would be fun. :) I've made this guy, a mini mushroom, and I've made some big mushrooms. I now love wool felt. :)

I'm not sure what the title of this post means, but this is an incredibly cool felted bowl from Flickr user annukkalaine.

I've been working on the head pictured above, and yes, I'm aware it doesn't really have a forehead. The hair is going to have to have a lot of body to compensate for that. This is the first large human piece I've made....actually, it's the only fully human piece I've made, generally I stick to the undead. I'm having a great time with this, and it will probably end up being an available pattern eventually. The only problem is that it's large--the head is already about 4 inches tall--and taking a long time to make. It should be worth it when it's finished, however.

Today, I got up at my usual time and processed to waste 10 minutes or so fruitlessly clikcing the refresh button on my browser while looking at the list of delays and cancellations for my area. In the end, I had an unusually easy commute into work. The hot topic at the office yesterday had been whether or not work would be cancelled (it wasn't), if we'd have to close early (we didn't), or if the snow/ice storm would be Truly Epic (no again). I assume some of my coworkers were pretty disappointed.

When I actually have time, I've been working on this dinosaur, which is a massively multipiece dinosaur, an unusual move for me. The one in the photo is the basic pattern model, but I can't wait to make a pink one and a brown one. I'm really excited to try one with safety eyes instead of sewn eyes, but the sewn-eyed one will be pretty much child safe. Thrilling, I know.

Per request of Mr. Crochetsamurai, I'm experimenting with doing some different things with crochet. This is a dinosaur, eating donuts. Obviously, he is in need of more donuts to eat and some cleanup around the edges. ;)

Thank you very much, illustratorsam, for the needle felting supplies. I am utterly in love, and it has been very difficult to resist the urge to felt so that I can get some things done, like cleaning the apartment and feeding the cats, as well as writing this post.

We had a lovely Christmas. The packages did not, in the end, show up in time. One of them arrived today. Oh well, it was still a lovely holiday, and we're doing it all again on Sunday with my family, this time. Assuming I'm not still needlefelting, or playing Little Big Planet...
